It was good to see some members and visitors who have not been able to make it recently. House alterations seem to be getting done at the moment. Thank you to the person who gave the club a donation it was very welcome. The wind made it a fun shoot on Sunday making every target different. The one that flew low first time would set off in a different direction next time. It was not a cold wind though. We tried out our rabbits. I bought some rabbit clays last time we re-ordered and it was the first time we had had a go with them. Some were breaking before they left the trap for some reason but we hope to master altering the trap to suit before we run out of the special clays. Some rabbits ran close to the ground and others leapt up in the air but then real wild rabbits can leap much higher than some people think. We try to have different targets for you each time. The scores were all a bit low so averages were down a bit but we are only six months through the year so time to recover. Not long to go though for the Midgley Cup which is presented in October to the member whose average has increased the most over two years. There is a shoot as usual on the 16th and then on the last Sunday of July we will be holding the Manorlands shoot, bring your pals. I hope we can raise a decent amount to send to the hospice as the Covid epidemic cut out so many fundraisers for them and they need the cash. If you have anything you can donate as a prize please bring it along. It is open to both members and visitors. The Manorlands Cup will be presented at the following shoot to the member with the highest score who has not won it in the past.
