16th June 2024.

It was the battle of Waterloo yesterday and it was fun seeing people checking up who was on their side, French or English. The side that won had one less team player than the other so a good victory there. The top scorer on the winning side will get 3x25 cartridges, the second two and the third one. I was a bit stunned when a grey haired man turned up and I found he was the son of someone I used to shoot with a long time ago. I knew I was old to start with but that quite brought it home. He made himself a member and we hope to see him again soon. We also had another person making themselves a member and they will both be very welcome.

The next shoot is on the 30th June when we will try to raise some more money for Manorlands, our local Sue Ryder Hospice. I must get some more prizes before then and if anyone has anything they can bring that would be great. The top scorer will be presented with the Alan Hayes Trophy at the following shoot unless they have won it before. We like to make sure some of the less able shooters have a chance. The Midgley cup is presented in October. I was told by West Yorkshire Firearms Div that twenty weeks is the delay after an application is received for grant or renewal so if yours is coming up soon, hurry up. Some doctors are delaying it by not signing their form immediately even though they are getting paid to do it.

We are hoping to get one of our containers replaced before the next shoot as the middle one is ready for the scrap yard. Let us hope all goes well.
